Declaration of the Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center on the Geopolitical Status of the Golan Heights

The Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center, under the direction of its president, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos, issues this statement for the purpose of formally establishing its institutional stance regarding the status of the Golan Heights, in consideration of the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East and the need to promote conditions that contribute to strategic balance, regional security, and the construction of a stable and lasting peace.
The Center formally expresses its support for the recognition of the legal and territorial sovereignty of the State of Israel over the Golan Heights.
This position is in line with diplomatic precedents established by the Governments of the United States and Colombia, which have formally recognized Israeli sovereignty over said territory. The Center considers these precedents from a perspective of geopolitical coherence and the pursuit of conditions that contribute to strengthening regional security and stability.
The institutional stance of the Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center, upheld by its president, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos, is grounded in considerations linked primarily to security, stability, the preservation of order, and the responsible management of strategic resources.
Preservation of Regional Stability and Security
The Golan Heights constitute a geographic and strategic position of critical importance, both because of the characteristics of its territory and its value for observation and military security.
In the current geopolitical context of the Middle East, the Center considers that the continuity of Israeli administration represents the strongest guarantee for mitigating security risks stemming from hostile actors present in Syrian territory, and for contributing to the protection of civilian populations.
From this perspective, any responsible assessment of the status and future of the Golan Heights must necessarily take into account the concrete security conditions existing in the region and the need to avoid scenarios capable of increasing instability or generating new threats to the populations of the area.
Sustainability and Management of Critical Resources
The Golan Heights also hold fundamental importance in terms of water resources. The territory is closely linked to sources and basins that feed the Jordan River and the Sea of Galilee, resources essential to regional water security.
The Center considers that the protection, preservation, and responsible management of these resources require a stable, institutionalized framework capable of guaranteeing safe and equitable administration.
In a region where access to water constitutes a strategic, economic, social, and humanitarian factor of primary importance, the existence of a stable administration represents an indispensable element for protecting vital resources and promoting their responsible and sustainable use.
Guarantee of Legality, Institutionality, and Civil Order
The application of the Golan Heights Law of 1981 established a continuous regulatory framework in the territory that, over the subsequent decades, has favored socioeconomic development, infrastructure, and the maintenance of civil order in a region historically characterized by considerable structural and geopolitical complexity.
The Center understands that institutional continuity, legal certainty, and the existence of effective administration constitute essential factors when responsibly analyzing the present situation of the Golan Heights and any consideration regarding its future.
A Call to the International Community
The Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center and its president, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos, respectfully call on the international community and multilateral organizations to evaluate the situation in the Middle East by taking into consideration the doctrine of political realism and the concrete conditions that currently determine the security and stability of the region.
The Center maintains that the recognition of secure borders and respect for the principle of legitimate defense are essential pillars that must be considered in the construction of peace agreements that may prove truly viable, stable, and permanent.
Lasting peace requires institutions capable of sustaining it, effective security conditions, protection for civilian populations, and solutions that take into account existing geopolitical realities.
By virtue of these considerations, the Kingdom of Peace and Justice Center formally reaffirms its support for the recognition of the legal and territorial sovereignty of the State of Israel over the Golan Heights, understanding that stability, security, and the preservation of an effective institutional order constitute fundamental conditions for advancing toward a viable and lasting peace in the Middle East.
