La Paz, Bolivia - April 29, 2026

The Chamber of Deputies and an important diplomatic meeting mark a key day for the strengthening of bilateral relations

As part of a day marked by intense institutional activity, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos led an agenda aimed at strengthening ties between Bolivia and the State of Israel, with actions carried out in both the legislative and diplomatic spheres.

During the early hours of the day, the Chamber of Deputies was the setting for technical meetings between deputies and senators, in which work was carried out on several bills put forward by Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos. These initiatives include the relocation of diplomatic missions, as well as the establishment of frameworks for technical and security cooperation.

In that context, Senator José Manuel Ormachea stated: “We are going to receive Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos’s bill proposal; we are going to discuss it publicly and deliberate on it (so that Bolivia may have a permanent representative in Israel and so that we may have an Israeli embassy on our territory).”

Afterward, at the invitation of Ambassador Gali Dagan, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos took part in a meeting in the city center, continuing the work agenda carried out in the legislative sphere. In that setting, Ambassador Dagan publicly acknowledged the work of Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos and thanked him for his “unconditional support” of the State of Israel.

For his part, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos highlighted the work carried out that day, stating: «I personally supervised every detail, pushing forward the agreements that will generate real progress».

The meeting was attended by representatives from various sectors, including ministers from different churches, Honorary Consul Roberto Nelkenbaum, and the president of the Jewish community, Ricardo Udler. Ambassador Dagan also underscored the role of religious leaders, whom he described as the “extra engine of diplomacy,” highlighting their contribution to strengthening the relationship between both countries.

The activities carried out during the day made it possible to move forward in consolidating a bilateral cooperation agenda, with the goal of deepening institutional ties between Bolivia and Israel in various areas of shared interest.
