Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos Highlights the Leadership of Nayib Bukele at an Event in San Salvador

The International Leader Praised the Salvadoran Governance Model and Its Regional Projection During an Event Held at the Palacio de los Deportes.

San Salvador, El Salvador – April 26, 2026

On April 26th, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos led an event at the Palacio de los Deportes “Carlos ‘El Famoso’ Hernández,” where he expressed recognition of President Nayib Bukele’s leadership and the impact of his administration in El Salvador and the region.

Before an audience gathered at this state venue, the leader expressed gratitude to the Salvadoran government for the facilities provided for the event. During his address, he made reference to the blue and white colors of the venue, drawing a symbolic connection to the flag of Israel, a nation on whose behalf he conveyed a message of support.

In the course of his presentation, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos addressed the security model implemented by the current Salvadoran administration, highlighting its focus on order and firmness in the application of public policies.

“Look, they point to President Bukele, for the way in which he is governing… God has allowed presidents to have that inclination toward what the Millennium will be; they are inspired by God,” he expressed, while maintaining that this type of leadership implies decisive action in the face of crime and disorder.

Likewise, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos underscored that this governance model is already transcending the borders of El Salvador, generating concrete interest among various regional leaders. In that regard, he specifically mentioned that figures such as Colombian attorney Abelardo de la Espriella, have publicly expressed interest in analyzing and potentially replicating the security and institutional order framework promoted by President Nayib Bukele.

The event concluded with a message of support for the course adopted by El Salvador in the areas of security and institutional organization, highlighting the regional projection that this type of leadership could consolidate in the coming years.
