A World in Transition: Wars, Shakings, and the Change of Kingdom

The ongoing wars, the situation in Iran, and the great natural phenomena shaking different regions of the planet form part —from the prophetic perspective presented by Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos—, of a transitional landscape that mankind must observe closely. In the midst of that process, Israel and Jerusalem occupy a central place in the fulfillment of the prophecies and in the future establishment of the Kingdom of the Messiah.

The world is going through a stage marked simultaneously by geopolitical conflicts, wars, and natural phenomena of a magnitude that compels one to look closely at what is happening.

The war between Russia and Ukraine continues; tensions and conflict surrounding Iran persist; and, in parallel, earthquakes, hurricanes, cyclones, storms, tsunamis, tidal waves, and volcanic eruptions seem to constantly remind us of the fragility of the human order.

Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos calls for observing these events from a prophetic perspective, understanding that they are not simply isolated occurrences, but manifestations that accompany a much greater process: the transition from the gentile kingdoms to the Kingdom of the Messiah.

Regarding the situation in Iran, his stance has been categorical:

“Look at the situations in the world, the wars that there are: Russia is still at war with Ukraine. You see the war with Iran; which must be brought to an end now, once and for all, that kingdom, so that those other physical phases and stages as a nation can come in, so the next step can come in.”

According to this interpretation, a prophetic sequence exists that must be fulfilled. For this reason, Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos maintains:

“You cannot move on to the next steps if that step of eliminating that kingdom is not completed first (which is still throwing tantrums over there), so that only the kingdom of the feet of iron and clay remains. We have already been speaking about that.”

This reference points directly to the prophetic image presented in chapter 2 of the book of Daniel and to the succession of kingdoms represented in it. From that perspective, contemporary events cannot be considered solely through the political, diplomatic, or military calculations of the present: they form part of a prophetic process whose unfolding ultimately leads to the establishment of the Kingdom of the Messiah.

The Call to Israel and Its Leaders

Within this landscape, Israel occupies a determining role. Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos directed his words particularly to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu:

“And the leaders… including Israel’s: Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, must take these words seriously, and bring that kingdom of Persia to a complete end, so that those phases and stages may come in for this introduction to the establishment of the Kingdom of the Messiah.”

Political decisions may be accompanied by alliances, international counsel, and strategic calculations. However, from the perspective put forward by Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos, there is a higher criterion that must guide those decisions:

“And there may be nations that give them support and that are giving them counsel, but the best counsel they can receive is the Counsel of God. And they must receive it through the prophecies that were spoken. And everything they do must be based on the prophecies; not in what others say. And all will go well! Because everything is a Program that is being developed, which is that change of kingdom; and Israel has a very important part.”

Israel’s importance is not limited to its current protagonism in the Middle East. Within the prophetic vision presented, its territory holds a fundamental future function, with Jerusalem as the center of governance:

“The part of Israel is, notice, the territory; and from there is where the entire planet Earth and the entire universe will be ruled. Galaxies, all the planets… Everything will be ruled, look, from that little point there, where the capital of the entire planet Earth will be; and of the galaxies and of the entire system it would be the Earth; but on Earth the capital would be Jerusalem.”

Therefore, speaking of Israel and Jerusalem from this perspective implies speaking not only of contemporary geopolitics, but also of the future order announced in the prophecies.

The Change of Kingdom and the Shakings of the Earth

The great historical changes have never been exempt from upheaval. Wars, conflicts, and profound transformations accompanied previous changes of kingdoms. The question, then, is what will happen in the definitive transition from the gentile kingdoms to the Kingdom of the Messiah.

Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos expresses it this way:

“Now, for those changes of kingdom, notice, there were situations, wars and all of that. And we said: What will it be like for this change of kingdom now, from the gentiles to the Kingdom of the Messiah? Well look, everything will be fulfilled there. What was partial in those changes of kingdom, now we will be seeing it in all those manifestations. Both the Earth groaning…”

This image of a creation that groans finds its reference in Romans, chapter 8:

“Romans, chapter 8, also speaks of that: ‘Waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.’”

From this reading, natural events also acquire a prophetic dimension. They must not be observed solely as isolated physical occurrences, but as part of a landscape that calls humanity —and especially the people of God— to remain attentive.

“And we see volcanoes, we see earthquakes, tidal waves, we see tsunamis, storms, hurricanes, cyclones and all those things, which are being manifested in this time, each time worse. Hurricanes that have never been seen, of a supernatural force… that a hurricane like this has never before happened, and now we are seeing it.”

Venezuela, Colombia, and a World that is Not Ready

The recent earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia were pointed out by Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos as concrete examples of those shakings:

“Earthquakes… Look at the one in Venezuela, what happened there. Now with the one that happened in Colombia, where they were not expecting that. And it has nothing to do with the one in Venezuela, they were two different fault lines, completely different.”

Regarding the earthquake in Colombia, he added:

“And something… Something curious: they say that it ran from top to bottom; it covered that entire left side (looking at the map head-on), from top to bottom: from Medellín, it came down through there, all the way, Cali, down to the bottom. And we see how the world, well… It’s as if it is not prepared for that.”

Beyond the prophetic dimension through which these events are interpreted, there is a profoundly human dimension that must never be relegated. Earthquakes destroy homes, disrupt communities, and above all, claim lives.

“And in those earthquakes, well, there are many losses as well, human ones. There are… around a hundred and something I saw last night, somewhere around there.”

In the face of that suffering, words must also be converted into solidarity. Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos expressed his support for the Colombian people and, especially, for the families who have lost loved ones:

“And we join the Colombian people. And we desire that God comfort the hearts of those who have lost their loved ones; and that God gives them strength; and that they hear that Voice of the Mighty Angel, the Voice of the Angel with the Everlasting Gospel, saying: ‘Fear God, and give Him glory, for the hour of His judgment has come.’ Revelation, chapter 14.”

A Call to Prepare

The prophetic reading of these events does not lead solely to interpreting what is happening. It also implies preparation.

Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos warns:

“Because God’s wrath will be manifested on this planet Earth during the great tribulation, but before that, there are shakings, in which the people of God must be ready to receive the blessings.”

Within that framework, the Feast of the Trumpets also appears, and the prophetic interlacing with that which will be manifested during the Millennial Kingdom:

“Everything will be painted in that interlace of the Feast of the Trumpets. An interlacing of what the Millennial Kingdom will be like will be seen, where what will be seen, for the most part or entirely, are tents.”

The reference to tents also holds a practical dimension in light of the great movements of the earth:

“Because you are not going to go under a building that is all cracked. And the most comfortable thing is a tent: a camping tent, a tent, practical things; so that if there is a movement, it does not fall on top of you.”

The conclusion, therefore, is not solely contemplative. Atmospheric and natural events constitute, within this perspective, a warning:

“In other words, God is giving us a warning through all those atmospheric and natural events that are taking place, so that the people of God may prepare themselves.”

We live in a world subjected to profound tensions: wars that do not end, power structures in conflict, societies exposed to devastating natural phenomena, and a humanity that —many times— discovers that its systems and cities are not prepared to respond to events of great magnitude.

But from the prophetic perspective, these shakings do not announce destruction alone; they also point to transition. Human kingdoms are temporary; the Program of God continues to unfold; Israel retains its place within that Program; Jerusalem has a central role reserved for it; and the people of God are called to understand the time, heed the warning, and prepare themselves.

Because, as Dr. José Benjamín Pérez Matos concludes:

“And when we talk about earthquakes, we are talking about liberation.”
